For available positions please contact Dr. Olivera Kesler by email.
Please follow the instructions below depending on the position of interest:
Graduate students
There are usually 1-2 new graduate student positions available each year, and students can begin their studies in September, May, or January. To apply for research positions as a Ph.D., M.A.Sc., or M. Eng. Candidate, please submit a formal application through the university's website for graduate admissions. Once the application is complete (including all required reference letters), please send an email with the subject line: "FCMML - graduate applicant (skule)" (without quotation marks). The body of the email should include a cover letter describing how your research interests fit with the research area of the lab and describing any previous related research experience (e.g. summer internships). An electronic transcript for all previous and current degrees should be attached to the email message, along with a CV or resume, all combined in one .pdf file with your name as the title.
Undergraduate students
There are generally several summer positions and undergraduate thesis positions available each year. To apply for summer research positions or for fourth-year thesis projects for undergraduate students, please send an email with the subject line "FCMML - undergraduate applicant (skule)" (without quotation marks). The body of the email should include a cover letter describing how your research interests fit with the research area of the lab. An electronic transcript for your undergraduate studies to date should be attached to the email message, along with a CV or resume, all combined in one .pdf file with your name as the title. Please note that summer undergraduate research positions must be at least 16 weeks long, usually starting in mid-late April and extending through the end of August, with 1 week for vacation. 10-week or 12-week internships are not available. The exact starting and ending dates are flexible, but the 16-week minimum is not.
Postdoctoral Fellows
A limited number of postdoctoral fellowship (PDF) positions may become available from time to time, only for applicants who have completed a Ph.D. in the field of solid oxide fuel cells (or who will soon complete their doctoral degree). To apply for a post-doctoral fellowship, please send an email with the subject line "FCMML - PDF applicant (skule)" (without quotation marks). The body of the email should include a cover letter describing how your research interests fit with the research area of the lab and describing your research experience in SOFCs. An electronic transcript for all previous degrees should be attached to the email message, along with a CV or resume, all combined in one .pdf file with your name as the title.
